dessertation film two

Texas chainsaw massacre

3:00-3:40 the music in this is so unbelievable sinister it sound like Satan him self has made this the pat in the film is were the mother has died and a tramp has found leather face in the bin as a babe so like an other fucked up Texan would do she took it home, the music really give u and idea and feel of what the TCM family are really like twisted! The music is realy long low note but some sort of melody behind them as a drum beat or as a few simple notes, the particular music, I think is leather face motif as it come into play when first get his chain saw and at the end when he is walking into the darkness.
11:50-12:44 after leather face has bin told to leave he goes to kill the manger this music adds to the killing but also to the action but im not looking at the action part when he hits the manager the music is a slow noise sort of music and this give me the idea that he not feeling about any thing that he is doing when it comes to killing, almost that he is in a trance and the music help to portray that.
12:55-137:17-this again I think is the leather face motif when he gains his legendary chainsaw the music is almost disturbing to a appoint hat he now taken the chainsaw and you know what he is going to do with it
16:56-17:225 the father or adopted father of leather face has killed the sheriff and has taken his cloths to become the sheriff him self the music that come into play when he is putting on the uniform is how to say wrong, as he has just killed the only sheriff and now is posing as the law him self witch is also wrong so you view knowing this think that is wrong and the music in this part back it up very well and add more fear and horror to it, as he is seen as a horror him self.
29:12-29:49 this again sound like the motif but then this add more horror to the face the she knows this “sheriff that that come to help just killed the biker and has now go off with her friends and she by her self.
42:20- 43:27the music in the seen is more scary than any thing as bother teens are stuck and one is wanting to get away and but the sheriff is beating him so he has no energy this more or of a moral horror as it make feel how could some body do that to some one the music does emprises the beating that the boy is getting and the twisted the mother is wiping the dirt from the girls forehead whilst she sing a nursery rhyme
59:00- this more gore but the horror aspect is still pretty strong through out this bit leather face cut the bike in half with a chainsaw again the music similar to the motif because it has the orestera feel to it and the heavy drone sound with the drums but its not till 100:0 that the actual motif kick in to the full blow power
101:48-103: 22gain the motif represents the horror and the actual twisted ness of Lethe face and how his mask came to be, with music so slow and horrifying this really put fear and horror into the viewer. It does give u the image of some thing satanic if not devilish. the orchestra give a more satanic feel it again some thing that is not ment to be. The music after the girl friend has just seen her bitfriend get his face taken off is rather interesting, as I think it reminds me of some thing out of the resident evil games long mysterious notes and very deep.
109:55 the family is sitting down to have tea and the music creepy as fuck this kind of sound like leather faces motif but this has more violins in it and when “Hoyt” say grace It builds up with the drums and string combing in leading u to feel some thing bad going to happened but then he just stop saying grace.
113:32 this music’s would strik fear into any one its very jumpy the begging with sort abrupt notes and a strange drum beat sound very industrial.
115:55 this is were leather face is chasing the girl through the woods with his legendary chainsaw so the music needs to be fast and epic the violins to make you feel as if the music is running with and that every step is a stroke on the strings.
120:30-121:22 leather face finally get them all when you think its all over he in back seat of the car and put the chainsaw through her and the seat and then he walks off in to the darkness carrying his chain saw and then his motif kick and really dark and evil ending with this music as if say you’ll see him another day some time soon…

to say this is a prequel I don’t think that its to bad to be honest even though a lot of the music to influence the action and the violence and so much the horror it still deliver the horror in a way not as much as the original Texas chainsaw massacre
but if you take leather faces motif that is extremely evil I think witch make the horror aspect of it stand out a lot lot more. Also that long droning sound is very powerful as if you take the scene of were leather face has just kill the manager of the slaughter house, you feel almost that he is in a trance when he kills him and a sense of limbo that leather face has no sympathy for what he just like he is in a trance when he killing some as there no emotion portage through the music.
Also when the adopted father of leather face up on the uniform of the sheriff that he killed the music doesn’t make you fell comfortable, as if to say it wrong some body like him is wearing a uniform of authority, only because you know what he is like some fucked up twisted, and that get proven when he meet the biker girl at the crash site, he just shoots her with the shotgun.

dessertation film one

Dracula is an 1897 novel by Irish author Bram Stoker, featuring as its primary antagonist the vampire Count Dracula.

In this film Dracula has a motif this first comes into plat at 1:00minuet in to the film when is off to was and carries out until he curses at god and stabs the cross on the alter, it then comes up numerous of times in the film, this certain motif for Dracula is very drone and use with orchestral instruments witch give you an image of grate evil and horror like Alfred Hitchoks psycho shower scene is use with high pitch violins to represent the stabbing but with this song its more slower and deeper but then build up to a fast and higher pitch witch can be representing the rage of Dracula and then this exploding in what he does in the intro it stab the cross with a sword, the second time this motif comes up is when Keanu reeves character laughs at Dracula’s portrait and Dracula then pulls out a sword on him. And then goes on to talk about blood-Dracula life force and how he is the last of his kind, but then Keanu reeves ask for forgiveness and then music dies down, not building up or exploding in hatred or anger so this proves my point about his motif
At 16:47 there’s this sad and hight pitched music that comes in although the violins deliver a sad and almost pathetic sound there is a the droning sound of a cello or double bass making the horror part of this stand out, the two work rather well together, creating the emotion of sadness but then reminding you that is Dracula and that he is evil and that is done by the low parts.
At 22:00-22:35 the camera pans over to the woman and then it all becomes dark an this weird music box music come in and a shadow goes over her the shadow is Dracula’s but its had a windy noise in the back ground making it more sinister and more horror like and the music comes to a slow down almost to a stop creating a more scary atmosphere putting a little more fear in the viewer.
24:13 this is a build up to what I call evil the music extremely sinister and slow getting louder and louder until then the insane man attack the doctor and then the music kicks in full blast.
28:12 Dracula crawls down the wall and this slow almost fantasy music comes in what make t fantasy is that the harp us pretty predominant in this part but still is weird seeing a man crawl down a vertical wall.
31:00-34:08 Again this motif of Dracula music comes in again when Keanu reeves character get seduced by the female vampire but this time is starts out soft with cellos and very smooth as he is get touched but the vampire then it get worse and as the situation gets worse the music get more louder and rough as the try to feed on him then when Dracula come in the fill blow evilness off the music comes in and dies down but then stars up again with the droning cellos again.
37:00-42:00the camera pans over the zoo and a similar sort of motif comes in but this time is different with a quire over the top of it sound like a hyme of some sort and then has a woman on her own adding to the intensity of this, also shows you Dracula in a were wolf form as well and lucy the red head has hear Dracula’s call and then gone out to find him in the garden, the music when she roaming around looking for is that of just 3notes (like “Halloween” and “jaw” bother there motif have just 3 note but work stupidly well and there are know around the world) and also this has a group of men song over the top of it, it is quite a slow sounding music but then it has short sharp notes when he close to the werewolf and then violins kick when he has bitten her, this could represent him sinking his teeth into Lucy’s neck this could be her turning point to evil?
49:50 the motif comes in again when Dracula dances with his love and she figures out who Dracula really is and he try to bite her and at the peak of the song he cannot bring him self to do it.
55:45 a very quite and soft melody is played but its still a bit airy and then thing take to worse and more evil essence
57:04 the music in this part practically has a lot of tensioning it you can tell just buy listening to the music and also puts fearing to the part of this.
101:02-101:53 wirde music box music again but this time he is try to seduces her also sound like a carnival music…
116:47 again this is what i call a build of evil n this partical part dracula is going to find his "love" but she gone to marry her fenoce and the music build up to a grate sense of evil and reenge it has Christan orcestera feel and image to it but as it builds up ti a final exsplotion of music loud and powerful as if all hell was let loose.
124:03 remins me again of phyco with shapr stabbing notes but this time there driving a stek thiugh her heart and hrn finaly cut her head off but the music in this is not exactly the smae it builds up and it does give the view a chill down yoour spine just from the music.

Dracula’s motif comes in nearly every time Dracula is angry or if some other vampire is feeding or going to reed on a victim, this is most likely that is shows a grate evil feeding on a human vampires are supposed to Satan angles or devils children, witch explains the evil and sinister music that come into the act of evil that is done

ed gein

this certain character in history has influenced loads of horror film that have bin made so i decided to so some research on him

Edward Theodore Gein (August 27, 1906 – July 26, 1984) was an US killer and grave robber. His crimes generated widespread notoriety after authorities discovered Gein had exhumed corpses from local graveyards and fashioned gruesome trophies and keepsakes from them. He is often called a serial killer despite his conviction for only two murders.

When the police radied his they found

  • Human skulls mounted upon the corner posts of his bed
  • Skin fashioned into a lampshade and used to upholster chair seats
  • Human skullcaps, apparently in use as soup bowls
  • A human heart (it is disputed where the heart was found; deputy reports all claimed that the heart was in a saucepan on the stove, while some crime scene photographers claimed it was in a paper bag)
  • Skin from the face of Mary Hogan, a local tavern owner, found in a paper bag
  • A window shade pull consisting of human lips
  • A vest crafted from the skin of a woman's torso
  • A belt made from several human nipples
  • Socks made from human flesh
  • A sheath made from human skin
  • A box of preserved vulvas that Gein admitted to be wearing
  • An array of "shrunken heads"
i think this one of the main reason that a lot of director and actors have bin inspired by him odiously not because he was an amazing person, but because the complete opposite he was so twisted and messed up that if any of the directors had ever wanted to have some sick mined character they could actualhave some refrence and crate more idea off ed gain

and it has also come to my attention that most of the twisted and fucked character or fims are based in Texas whether that is because it such a desolate place or that were they are is a myster to me but its seem like a good spot to me

books!

i have bin reading "the horror genre from Beelzebub to Blair witch" by Paul wells

and i have found some rather interesting pages and one the have influenced me to use the film in my dissertation and i have scanned in a few page that i had enjoyed reading and that are very influential

the top scan: is just telling you how phyco was a mile stone for the horror genre and again about ed gein! it seem he has left quite a bit mark in the horror industry, probaily manily because he so fucked up and twisted!

second and third scans: 3rd one actually is suppose t be read first the the sencond one this just tells you a little back ground info on cliver bakcer and his creation of the ceniobites and how they are mutated and how and why

fourth and fifth: agaion the 5th ons is meant to be read 1st n the 4th one secons its just about the texas chain saw massacre after reading this i actualy went ou and bought "the begging" and have taken alot of infulence from it and ia am going to use it in my film i am making and also in my dessertaion

reserch on music in horror films

Most people will probably agree that orchestral music is the most characteristic type of horror film music (and perhaps film music in general). It has been used since the birth of the genre and even today is the most popular type of music used in horror films, thrillers, and adventure films. One reason why orchestral music is so common in horror films is probably that the open-endedness and great dynamic range of the genre allows the composer to greatly vary his compositions to follow the events in a film. Another reason could be that it is very neutral and appeals to a wide audience, but perhaps the main reason is that powerful orchestral music simply works very well when there is a need to convey emotions and set a certain mood.

i feel that horror music in this genre has the most powerful and has so efmasist on the scene bin shown and to all other genre

http://www.eng.umu.se/monster/john/sounds/horror_music.wav

this is an example of the sort of classic horror film the sound give u an image of some running away i think, with the sharp quick note this also can be seen in Alfred Hitchcock film psycho" the shower seen"
films witch use a short melody as a symbol for it monster such as Halloween series, witch is about a mad killer Michael Myers. the concept in Halloween in simpler to Friday the 13th, the difference begin that the auditory symbol consist of the 3 note piano melody created by Alan Howarth and is consider one of the most recognisable horror music compositions

influences

"After an experimental bio-nerve gas is accidentally released at a remote U.S. military base in Texas, those exposed to the gas turn into flesh-eating, mutating zombies out to kill. An assortment of various people who include stripper Cherry, her shady mechanic ex-boyfriend ray, a strong-willed doctor, the local sheriff, and an assortment of various people must join forces to survive the night as the so-called "sickos" threaten to take over the whole town and the world"

when i first saw this film i didn't relay like it but then when i watched it a second time i realizerd how food it was and how its more of a tribute to all the other horror films, i think is a good thing because this then enable the director to use some of the best and most influential parts of a film to the put together as a complation to make an ultimate film of that geanra

The Cenobites are extradimensional beings who appear in the works of Clive Barker, including the novella The Hellbound Heart and the eight Hellraiser films. They are also mentioned, in passing, in the novel Weaveworld. They are mentioned by Immacolata who calls them “The Surgeons from Beyond.”

this is one of the film that have come ot my attention and also taking infulenec from it as well
also another film is hellraiser,i love this film because of the pure face that i was a realy good film for it time and also that it a load about satan and cenobiites.
the consept of the (The term cenobite is an archaic word meaning simply "a member of a communal religious order". Indeed, the original novel mentions the Cenobites as "Theologians of the Order of the Gash"; they are also referred to as Hierophants. They can reach Earth's reality only through a rupture in time and space (referred to as a "Schism") which is opened and closed using certain unearthly artifacts. The most common form for these artifacts is an innocuous-looking Chinese-style puzzle box called the Lament Configuration.)
cenobite i think is awsum abd the way they look as well how they are all disfugred due to the fact that they have bin tourcherd throught the Lemarchand Box, a wood and brass puzzle box, which if solved opens a gateway between our world and Hell, highly sought after by the greatest of hedonists for its promise of unparalleled pleasures. The Cenobites were then directly responsible for the pleasure/pain torture of said individual. other cenobite have more brutal disfigureation.

devil may cry, even though its a game it have inspired me due to the face again to do with the devil. in the fourth game they have introudece a new charcater Nero comes into possession of Yamato, Vergil's sword, which allows him a Devil Trigger which summons a Devil avatar to fight with him. i like this more as the story side of it rather than the game concept of it, dont get me wrong them game is good but im not look at the game side in this part.

the caracter in my short film know as the "reeper" at the moment is lose based on lether face and the grim reeper aka death the cloke he weres is based upon death cloak that he were but the actual personality of this character is losely based on lether face, toward the more twisted side and burtality of him, even tho letherface si based on ed gain a 1940 sirial killer who also robber grace and were the skin of his viktem like letherface does but In the original film, Leatherface wore three different masks; the "Killing Mask", "Grandmother Mask" and "Pretty Woman Mask." Gunnar Hansen commented, "the reason he wore a mask, according to Tobe and Kim, was that the mask really determined his personality. Who he wanted to be that day determined what mask he put on.

What film inspired me to make this film were evil dead:2 even though this is a realy old horror I think it set a mile stone for all other horror films , I just love he fact there are no special effect every thing is either a prop or made in small scale ,this take a lot of effort and I think that just add to the atmosphere of the film, it one of those films that I can never get board of.
There are quite a few gory parts in it and seem that at the time the there weren’t many special effect ever thing was done by have as so to speak so I wanted to have that in my film but then again I did want to have some sort of special effect in it, the make u from evil dead2 was really inspiriting to me if you take the part were Bruce turns in to that demonic version of him self it all make up and a bit of latex this is what I want to achieve in my film.
Another film that inspired me was Alfred Hitchcock psycho as this film I THE millstone for all other horror films as it has the classic murder in the shower with the violins and its about a man who think mother still alive and dresses up like and kills guest who stay at his hotel, that fact that you don’t know realy much or even any thing about this “psycho” is quite the enigma and I liked that but you do get a rough idea of what has happened to him towards the end I want to again incorporate this into my film, in away you don’t know relay what’s happened but some how you can tell
And thre3rd film that inspired me was planet terror now this is a dedication to all other horror films as it had similar part form other films like for example when the stripper lose her leg and then get it replaced with a machine gun-evil dead Bruce get a chainsaw on his hand when he cut of his own, also this film is ridicules gore just for the sake of it head exploding every were guts falling out from every were, it just fantastic but some time you think to your self this is a bit of a spoof, but none the less good, it more of an action horror thriller but still has load of aspect of horror. Usually in horror films these always people that survived like in planet terror and all the other film I have described, but in the film I’m making I want no one to survive, as I think his make it a good horror films personally I don’t like when people survive but then again you can argue that how will the story get passed and so on and on. So these are my inspection for the film I have made all classice horror films with a little bit of action mixed in with them.

"reaper"

this is a better idea of how i want the reaper to look whit color and how his arm is mutated,
the cloak he wears is going to be made by myself and the arm "mutation" is going to be done by using some sort of wound kit and other various thing i can find, for example i could use rubber or PVC over a glove and make i so i can slip it over the actor.

also this i more of a final idea now

bit o info

Bemard Herrmann's theme for the Psycho shower scene uses high-pitched string instrument notes with very fast attack. Strangely enough, the theme nearly didn't get written, as this was another scene for which Hitchcock didn't want any music. But Herrmann wrote it anyway, and Hitchcock agreed that it was too good to throw away (Karlin 15). Herrmann also uses mostly strings and percussion to build suspense in the movie Fahrenheit 451 (Darby and Du Bois 363). Lots of movies use high-pitched music to build fear.
The violin in Psycho is so effective because it is used as percussion (Daiby and Du Bois 363), suggesting the knifestrokes. Deep sounds also sound percussive, and in fact you can feel them literally penetrating your body if the volume is strong enough. Jaws uses a sinister but very simple double bass which begins in long, heavy notes gradually acquiring a much faster attack (Darby and Du Bois 534). Another example of low music for suspense occurs in the opening of the Malcolm McDowell vehicle Time After Time. A prostitute stumbles past a London pub. We hear garish popular Victorian music from within. Then this switches to a deep, ominous double bass as the prostitute looks up and sees ... Jack the Ripper. But she thinks she sees just a well-dressed gentleman, so the soundtrack cleverly switches back to the pub music. The music is sinister just long enough for the audience to register the threat, but it doesn't insult us by playing on and on during the murder of the prostitute (Daiby and Du Bois 318).
this bit not got any thing to do with horror realy i just fount his interesting
Raiders of the Lost Ark opens with Indiana Jones fleeing a runaway boulder. That noise was actually the sound editor's Honda Civic rolling down his driveway (Spotnitz 42). The light sabers in Star Wars are the sounds of a TV picture tube and an old 35mm projector (Spotnitz 44). Luke Skywalker's land cruiser is the noise of the Los Angeles Harbor freeway traffic heard through a vacuumcleaner pipe (Spotnitz 44). Star Wars goes for gritty sounds, which is why those movies sound like our world and Star Trek sounds like a better one (Spotnitz 44).
Though horror films can often feature supernatural creatures and events, ironically enough what they need is an uncomplicated sound that will disturb the audience viscerally rather than interest them intellectually. You might think I'm talking about sound effect libraries, of wolves growling or boots stalking down an alleyway -- and you're right, soundtracks do use these. But they also use much more mundane sounds. For instance, the sound studios of horror movies are frequently littered with fruits and vegetables to make various body-snapping sound effects. The recent Hellraiser IV went through a lot of melons (Stokes 74).

Another interesting monster sound was achieved in the made-for-TV movie based on Stephen King's The Langoliers. The langoliers are nearly all mouth, so they needed to have a predatory effect. But King had described the sound of their approach as being reminiscent of Rice Krispies. Although the langoliers, who literally eat the world, would realistically require combinations of grinding, screeching, scraping and the crunching of metal, pavement, and earth, the executive producer was adamant that they should not sound mechanical. Sound editor Ray Palagy says, ''We actually spent an entire day recording cereal sounds -- dry cereal, wet, mushy; in a bowl, in a tub ...'' They took all of these sounds and made processed versions of all of them. Then they added effects such as Velcro, car doors, subway screeches and lion growls to yield ''signature'' sounds that are hard to categorize as animal or machine. Because supernatural creatures such as the Langoliers are based on no equivalent in the real world, they have to sound unique (Eskow 164).

ooolala look what i found

1.door kick open with force
2.the shilouwet of the "reeper" stands there and the back ground comes froward an the fro ground goes back
3-4.the camera then pans round from the back of his head to the bottom of its feet
5.then the camera cuts to the floor and an arm is coverd in blool
6.camera zooms out and then see a pile of corpes on the flood tiwtchin
7.the you see the "reeper" dragin a sledge hammer along the floor wiht a wierd kind of lipm
8.the you see a body of a survier leaning agast the wall
9.the "reeper" is lookin down on him/her from the victems head-again the background anf for ground swap
10-11.then the sledge hammer come down with alot of force-i could do this back wards so it look faster and looks more brutal
12.the the "reeper: grabs the victems head and then slams it into the wall and ill hav this in 3 diffrent agngle played at diffrent times and when each one has stop ill set the other off like a caine recation

new concept

i have bin drawing up some design for a hoof that my character will were this will enable him to cover his face creating an enigma, these are the first attempts

as you can see i had a bit of problems with the shape of the hood and the width but then i finally came to a finaly idea, making the hood into a scarf like thing and changing the "hood" to a cape with a rangged end.

i then drew up a rough image of the sort of character and build i want him to to be, it is sort of a doctor doom stly but that was not in tended i felt that the "scarf " idea would sit better and cover his face up more, i will b making this hood thing from scratc so shud be fun....

i then tought about give this demon/evil beaning a mutated hand, i got the idea from devil may cry 4 as on of the cahraters: nero has a arm possed by a demon

so i had a go at coming up with my own non of this is for definate but it will b along thesze lines

Friday, October 10, 2008

For this project I will b making a short horror film, taking influences from Sam ramie(evil dead 2) Clive baker(hell raiser) and wez craven( night mar on elm srt.)
It will mainly consist of gore head exploding and Satan, as nearly all horror films do, I think this will a challenge for me as there a lot of part that need doing, not act as such but as getting all the props, locations and such, but its more a practical side that I am looking forward to and writing the story.
At the moment I am think of filming it in a house at night and have draw a couple of pages of a story board, I want this short film to be more weird and freaky but still have the element of gore, and the sound effect I have in mind are either samples from a song or made my self, and the music I decided to put it will be written by me or my band (BCM). All the filming will b done by me and I have a few idea of who to cast in it and what part to play but I can think more in depth of that later.
I think for some of the scean like I want some ones head to trodden on explode well not entirely explode but get crush and leak or some thing, with lots of blood, and going back to sound effects I was watch the commentary on evil dead2 and for when he get stabbed in the ankle what they did was stab a apple with a pencil and twist it around! So simple things can sound proper effective. So I think I will take this into account and use it.

year 3

welcom to my new blog of doom

Evaluation

Evaluation
I really enjoyed this as I found that I prefer to do moving images rather than interactive designs. This is becuase I find it more interesting and it has a more practical side too, such as actually going out and doing the work rather than always being sat in front of a computer all the time, getting the same thing over and over again. If you actaully go out and record then you’re “getting your hands dirty” so to speak and this is what I love about it. I realise you will have to sit at a computer to edit and put it together but at least its not for the whole duration of the project.
Having worked with my own band and done the recording myself I have come across many pros and cons of which i found the pros tend to cancel out the cons. For example, filming your own band means that you have to find somewhere to shoot the film and record different parts. As it so happened we have a practice room at our bassists house and practice there on a regular base, so luckily we had somewhere to shoot. At first I wasn’t too happy with it because it wasnt very professional looking but when I came to editing it I found that the room was actually okay because the background almost faded away. We did 3 different shoots in three weeks. This made things abit awkward as not everyone could make it and that meant we couldn’t do any recording. We did about 7 different shots and then did some individual filming of the band and then some group ones. I found out that the individual ones worked best and made more of an impact. On the second shoot we managed to get a smoke machine as we had been trying to fill the room up with cigarette smoke without success to gain this sort of effect. The only bad thing about using the smoke machine was when it came to the drums you couldn’t see the drummer and thats probably the only thing I really don’t like about the music video, the fact that I don’t have more shots of the drummer.
When it came to the editing of the video I was going to originally keep the shot of the vocalist in colour and the rest off the band members in black and white, but then I added a threshold filter of it which made them black and white - then it was bit mapped but I soon was able to figure out how to change it.
I think that I have stuck to my original story board fairly well but with a few small changes for example the strobe light on the drums and the circle head banging. I couldn’t find a strobe light so I decided not to have one, but again when it came to editing this I managed to find another useful and powerful filter which is used in other metal videos to make the viewer experience the power of the riff or whatever it is that is being portrayed. This filter moves the images/film around and adds a flashing effect to the video, which I used to make the brutal and faster parts have more emphasis. Another bit that I didn’t do was the bottle smashing in slow-motion but instead I used slow-motion for doing the head banging becuase it works really well with the hair going all over the place and adds that little bit more to the video.
Also with these effects the smoke from the smoke machine worked really well and had this eerie effect to add to the film, sort of a film noir thing.
If I was to go back and do this again with more time I think that I would have filmed in more locations such as filming the band in the moors or some fields and on top of a rock formation. I would of added some epicenes in there, with the wind blowing in our hair and letting out mighty blast beats and awesome riffage!
Also I think I would put more shots of the drummer and of used less smoke on these shots because as he is sitting down you can hardly see him and then to add smoke to the shot means even less footage of him!

this one is more slower and longer
these two clips are used in my my final video and i think work well with the part that i placed them in because as the build up to the end ,the slow motion kicks in just befor the blast beats but after that break down,so it kinda of adds tension to the video as well and a suspense as you don't know went the last part is going to kick in1

this a short video of the slow motion iu use in after effects, to get the slow motion i sued an add on called twixter and all i had to do ws to key fram wheere i want the slow motion to stop and start then select the speed...so hear are some of the clips,i like the one above because having long hair make it look awsum and even better just add more emphasis to it.

this one u cant rtealy tell only because it slowed down by about 10% but still look a bit slow.

this on agin is of the 1st clip but just a tad slower and long, looks better

but i tink that this is the ulitimate one!again the long hair add to the video but, makin the hair move in a circular motion and then slowin it down look even better than any of the others!this is knownds as circal head-banging or windmlin!

dvd cover WHACK!

so far this is what it looks like! amybe i will put some more items inti but don't want to over crowed it!

after the crit

i got quite a positive feed back witch was surprising to me,because i though that no one would rely like it but i think that i shocked ever one as well haha!
some thing that did cross my mind was that some one commented on how it look very "film noir" and the 1st thing that came to my mind was that it Nosferatu,Nosferatu: A Symphony of Horror is a German Expressionist film by F. W. Murnau, starring Max Schreck as the vampire Count Orlok. The film, shot in 1921 and released in 1922, was in essence an unauthorized adaptation of Bram Stoker's Dracula, with names and other details changed because the studio could not obtain the rights to the novel (for instance, "vampire" became "Nosferatu," and Count Dracula became Count Orlok).

editing the video!

as i was editing the video i found rather usful and awsum video filters witch i have used to create a effective "metal" style video,by useing the overdrive: witch is a filter that distorts/glows it makes the video jump around and also i turned every thing to black and white using the thresthold, this makes the video black and white with no greys in it
as u can see in this montage iv made :D

logos

i have bin experimenting with fonts looking at black/death/heavy
metal band logo and have come up with 3 i deas, these i will use on the dvd cover but witch one is still yet to b decided.

The one at the top is based on a more heavy/thrash metal idea more brutal than the other to, the other two, they are based on more toward black/death rather than like most death metal band these logo are readable most death metal bands you cant even read the logos
for example this band!

can ye tell wot it is yet?!

essay

HD is the largest digital format. This standard is still being developed (with choices like 720P and 1080I most common), and is rapidly gaining popularity, the optical disc delivery system Blu-ray Disc and the video tape format D-VHS.
High definition first came around in the early 1980’s, as Japan developed a TV that would operate at 30 frames per second (FPS).
Japan then showed this marvellous invention at an international meeting of television engineers in Algiers in 1981 and japans NHK(or Japan Broadcasting Corporation, is Japan's public broadcaster. The NHK is financed by a Television licence) presented its analog HDTV system at Swiss conference in 1983.
HD is also used in films not just TV, such film directors who have used HD to a large degree thus far are: George Lucas, Michael Mann, Steven Soderbergh, and Robert Rodriguez, and there are program that have used it too Star Trek: Enterprise, Stargate SG-1, Stargate Atlantis and the re-imagined Battlestar Galactica have also begun to use digital cameras.
And even now days the gamin industry wants a piece of this the Xbox 360 and the Playstation 3 both use HD gaming and this make a hell of a difference from playing it on a normal TV.HD is amazing you get such a clear quality.
In a lot of music video there are aspect of HD used as well, take pantera “5 minuets alone” the very very into there is a light bulb bin smashed but it has bin rewound and im not a hundred present sure but I think the sound is rewound as well, because its sound it and also quite strange ,the song it self is about:
“There was a guy in the front row in San Diego who was heckling Phil (Anselmo, [vocalist]). Phil finally had enough, so he incited the crowd to jump this guy's ass and beat the shit out of him on the spot, so he sued us. And when his dad called our manager, his exact quote was, "You just give me five minutes alone with that Phil Anselmo guy and I'll show him who's big daddy around here." Phil's response was, "You just give me five minutes with that cat's dad and I'll whoop his ass." That's where that song came from”
Vinnie Paul ex-pantera drummer
now a little on Pushead, one of my favourite artist and has done a lot of work for big bands shush as Metallica, Misfits and septic death doing album covers to sculptures, and he has even brought out a sires of toys, shush as a robot car and the cococrock with is a doll. Pushead is a very unique artist and has a very distanced style from the other artiest, not only does he have a grate amount of detail he has a way of getting to the point, to make it stand out, if you take metallica poster of the flaming skull when u look at it you think ”thetas metal”, now metallica bin one of the best thrash metal bands they have to be metal this is going back to the subculture, bin metal or something bin “metal” means that it is more powerful and brutal than any thing on the face of the earth and “cool”, but again this only applies to a certain culture, but with in that culture it is a well know term.
Even if you look at video games today you can see that that in its own self has there own subculture as well if u take for example world of war craft, its all about joining the game good/evil and you manek friends but only with the same people (good/evil),and because its an online game your playing with other in another world, on the net! Witch also can be used literality, you find your self in another world. Also earache records a death/grind core metal record label has just brought out a racing game, know earache are not very big and probity not many people have heard of it.
If you take a look at machine head music video for davidan all the images and footage are all very fast with a lot of lighting effects witch gives connotations of it bin brutal and savage, but its in time with the music, and with the urban back grounds and walking through the streets, gives more of an Ephesus to them bin as subculture band towards teenagers, some thing that they can relate to.
I suppose there is a subculture with in filming and photography, as some ppl prefer to use older SLR’s that you have to develop your SLR(slefsingle-lens reflex) camera uses an automatic moving mirror system which permits the photographer to see exactly what will be captured by the film or digital imaging system, as opposed to non-SLR cameras where the view through the viewfinder could be significantly different from what was captured on film. Weather it is for nostalgia reason or you just prefer to use a film, digital no-slr or an slr camera they are a subculture because people perfrer different type and use them instead of other just like music but this is a more neat and smaller group of people.
But I think that the biggest type of subculture ha to be with in music because it has more than just music in it it also has conation of life style, clothing and the way you live and all because of music for example take the original skinhead movement of the late-1960s was a multicultural synthesis organized around fashion and music. The first skinheads were offshoots of the British "mod" subculture of the early 1960s.
certain mods began to emphasize the more proletarian aspects of the look, cutting their hair shorter and replacing dandified suits and expensive shoes with jeans and heavy boots. These no-frills "hard mods" prefigured the arrival of the first skinheads. he decline of the original skinhead subculture by the early 1970s, and its rebirth later in the decade under the influence of punk rock, opened the way for new influences. Not only did new musical genres rise around which skinhead identity could coalesce--above all so-called "street punk," or "Oi!"

Death Metal Music: The Passion and Politics of a Subculture

i found this book and thought I was perfect for me and to explain more of what I am doing and explain more of my view on it and to try and make other understand the difference of the music and how IT IS NOT JUST NOISE!!!!!
In the 1980 heavy music moved into the mainstream, heavy metal mixed with hardcore punk to crate a thrash metal movement that featured bands shuch as metallica, slayer, anthrax and megadeth
In many ways thrash metal gave birth to death metal with all the other band trying to out do one another with faster riffs and technicality and over all extremity.
The lyrical side of it was more primitive but referred to general metal topics/connotation of death, destruction and evil. One of the 1st black metal band labled them self’s venom from England also label there music as fast, abrasive music(black metal) Black metal is an extreme subgenre of heavy metal. It is typically abrasive and usually makes use of fast tempos, high-pitched electric guitars often played with tremolo picking, high-pitched shrieking vocals, and unconventional song structures. It is prone to experimentation and certain elements typical to black metal are not always used by every band within the subgenre.

The first bands to pioneer the style were mostly thrash metal bands that formed the prototype for black metal in the early 1980s; they are referred to collectively as the First Wave, and consist of a few bands, such as Venom, Bathory, Hellhammer and Celtic Frost.[1] In the late 1980s and early 1990s, a Second Wave emerged, primarily of Norwegian bands like Burzum, Mayhem, Darkthrone and Emperor. Although there is no well-defined Third Wave, modern black metal bands have incorporated new musical and lyrical trends into their music.

Hers a bit about blackened death metal Blackened death metal is a subgenre of death metal fused with the more fluid and melodic elements of black metal. These bands also tend to adopt some of the thematic characteristics of that genre as well; evil, Satanism, and occultism are all common topics and images. Early influences for blackened death metal included death metal bands such as Deicide, Acheron, and Immolation as well as black metal bands like Mayhem. Some good examples of the blackened death metal style would be God Dethroned (Early), Behemoth, Akercocke, Belphegor, Angelcorpse, Zyklon, and Sacramentum. Also myrkskog Usually their music consists of thunderous high speed doublebass with remarkably rapid blastbeats and fills. Guitars are made up of harmonic tremolo picking and sometimes powerchords with fast solos composed by Destructhor who, along with Secthdamon, currently plays in Zyklon. Their debut album Deathmachine is a hybrid blackened death metal album combining attributes of both genres, their second album Superior Massacre is much more death metal oriented with much more prominent basslines and less tremolo picked riffs. Myrkskog have been largely dormant since the release of Superior Massacre but make occasional live appearances, the most recent of which was at the 2006 edition of the Inferno Festival. The name 'Myrkskog' is apparently a translation of the Norwegian for 'Mirkwood'.

new idea!

after drawing up this story bord i have a new idea for a story bord, well not realy a stroy bord but its easier to exsplane it liek this than draw it.
have 2 diffrent angels or more but half of them will be in strobe light and the others will be normal lighting, then kinda of mash the 2 up so that the sync with the music and with each other,to get a mental effect.
hopefully the strobe will go in time with the music, and also a good shot of the double kick pedals in strobe will be good and have a really powerful impact with music and the 2 combined.
i am taking alot of influence from the pantera videos!
also i want to do some back wards filming, like in coldplays video the scientist

even tho its a real shit song the video work in it is good and the way the mouth works well with the lip sync is rather good as well, but its typical coldplay, stupid and random i mean why the hell would you go lie on a mattress in the slums after a car crash!?!?

story bord

i have come up wiht a story bord that i think i m goin to stik to
the top on is the angles of the camera and the direction of the lighting also the movement of the fingers so you get rough idea of the way its goin to look, but the only way to actuality see the if it work is to do it so,that my object to do 2morro

thinking about where i could record this,i have come up with 2 location base on local arses
1.our practice room(band)
2.blue screen it

i think the room is mt best bet, because we can get a good angle in it and we fit nicely in it

here on of the angles

music video

pantera...one of my fav bans have one of the best music videos ever!
"5 minuets alone"

with the light bulb smashing in slow motion and then the angle of the cameras on the guitar showing how they play and on the drums with the double kick pedal, also the slo motion haed banging and the strobe light work real well this.
the best part is defiantly the angle of the camera on the guitar head.

another relay good video by pantera is "im broken"

its a rely simple video were it just them in a room playing and just moshing around the place.
also in one part of the video you can see one of the camera men holding a camera and he is useing his hand and swaying the camera.

another pantera video
"this love"

is quite a bit diffrent from the rest as this has a story to it rather than them headbanging around n bin cool as fuck.
he music video for "This Love" shows the band playing on a rooftop while smoke drifts over them. The shot cuts to scenes of prostitution and the chorus shows the band inside, playing on a stage, cutting between this and the rooftop. The prostitute gets into a cab which is occupied by another man, who tries to rape her. From the last moments of the video, it appears that she kills him, because she is seen dragging him from the cab and leaving him by the roadside.

and last but not least
"Revolution is my name"

this video shows u all of the band mebers as kids and swaps from the actual music video to them plaing at a concert witch fis in very well, and also them beating the shit out of a tv with a sledge hammer!

i think after all this am am goin use a lot of panters style editing in my video

slow mo

i also want to use slow motion after seeing this

if i can get a camera will record like this smoothly and mayb not this slow but some thing along them lines

major project

have watch casino royal(the new bond film) i quite like the intro have it bin different from all the others, the part i particularly liked was, when he fighting all the other people and there all in silhouettes all done rota scoping, witch i want to try this prodject.

also in metal gears solid 3,the title screen in snake using close quarter combat on a solider witch i realy liked as well, but the only title screen i could find was this one from the 1st/vr missions
